Have an SA 8300 HDTV STB and a Panasonic p50V10 will be arriving shortly. Intend to use an HDMI cable between the two. Do I get a male to male or a female to female cable??? Said it was a dumb question, eh?

Don't even think they make cables with female at both ends, but they do make ones with female and male to use as extender cables to a standard male-male cable.

All HDMI equipment has female connectors. All interconnect HDMI cables will be male at both ends. Some extension HDMI cables and port-savers will have female at one end so they can be extended by adding another M-M HDMI cable. You can also get F-F HDMI couplers for a similar purpose to link two standard HDMI interconnects.
