Very Good 7.1 Receiver (Don't need video switching)

I've had my current Sony DE825 Receiver for 7 years, so anything will be an upgrade. I'm looking for someting very good, but I'm hoping to save a lot by not needing video inputs or switching. With the current issues with HDMI switching with cable boxes, such as my SA 8300HD, I'm thinking about sticking to running video directly to projector.

Only thing I will probably do is add 2 speakers for a 7.1 setup.

Any recomendations for such a receiver?
