My HD box outputs component or rgbhv signals only (no vga), so I was looking to see if I could convert to vga for input into my projector. DigitalConnections has the HD15M5B6 VGA to RGBHV cables with the RCA ends, which would be perfect *IF* the cable actually works the other way around too.(bi-directional?) .I need RGBVH to VGA. Probably a stupid question as I really don't think that the cable does much except re-route the wires for the proper connections. Anyone know why this wouldn't work in my situation?

PS..I e-mailed DC about this, but got my mailed returned, twice with this message:

That'll work fine provided you've got male and female ends matched up.

A VGA cable is in fact an RGBHV cable already, you're just changing the connectors. (The VGA connector is called that for historical reasons, more properly called a D-sub 15-pin connector.)
