I will be getting my Panasonic 42"PHD5UY next week and I need 2 separate component cables connection to the plasma. The only one component input will be used for my Cable box. Can I buy a VGA to RCA component cable to connect my DVD player to the plasma's VGA input? Any advise will be appreciated!

I don't think you can just buy a cable. You'll need a converter of some sort. A component video switcher would probably be a better, cheaper, and simpler option.

yes; Better cables has them. they simply wire one end with a d-subminiature connector and the other with rca connectors. You might have to make a setting change in the plas menu so it can see the signal as a video, not pc, signal.

Thanks for the replies. I check with a cable supplier and they told me the panny wont accept component via VGA but the sony plasma does . The only option left will be component switch box or HTPC DVD.
