this may be a stupid question but can i buy just any old VGA cable for my 360 or does in have to be a special xbox 360 cord?

You need a cable made to plug into the 360, that is unless your 360 is special and happens to have a standard VGA port on it.

I'm pretty sure you need a special cable. I don't think the output port on the 360 is going to be the same as for a computer. But you could always check...

It has to be made specifically for the XBox 360. One end has to be custom made for the 360's A/V port.
