i am about to buy the canopus advc300 to convert all of my vhs tapes to dvd. should i need double layer dvds? i am not sure how much data there is on the vhs tapes. a lot of them are about 2 hours long. thanks!
But: single layer is easily enough. It's much more important to use a good DV to MPEG2 encoder. Multi-pass VBR is utilize the full DVD capacity of 4.3gb no matter how long the video actually is.
