VICE, a news magazine series featuring startling, groundbreaking stories from around the world, smashes barriers of decorum to cover such stories as out-of-control political assassinations in the Philippines, the sumo/Mixed Martial Arts craze that has swept Senegal and the precarious nuclear stare-down in Kashmir. VICE's fearless approach is like nothing else on television and will show some of the scariest, weirdest and most absurd customs and practices known to humanity.

VICE is executive produced by Bill Maher, Shane Smith and Eddy Moretti, VICE's chief creative officer, with CNN's Fareed Zakaria serving as consulting producer and BJ Levin as co-executive producer. The show takes its name from the leading youth entertainment company operating in over 34 countries including vice.com; an international network of digital channels; a television production studio; a print magazine; a record label; an in-house creative services agency; and a book-publishing division.

You can primarily watch VICE on Fridays on HBO at 9:00 PM CST.

Alternatively, you can watch episodes (and not that are not featured on HBO) on their website. Heck, even YouTube has free-streaming VICE episodes. They are really fair about their content:D

Agreed. It's almost becoming as essential to an informed citizenry as CBS's venerable '60 Minutes'. You're going to hear about stuff on both these shows you'll never hear about anywhere else, but you should. With pictures!

(And add PBS's equally venerable 'Frontline' to that list as well.)

That's great journalism.

The Patriot Movement and their ultra conservative radio station

The fishing story! Sharks will be going extinct if something doesn't change. The bomb-blast fishing and other large-scale operations are scary. Wipes out so much life.

Tonight's episode was wild! The commercial surrogacy in India is kinda sad. Woman are so poor that they must become a surrogate. Even human trafficking at points.
Looking around some of those "towns" in North Africa really drove home to me just how lucky I am to be born in the USA and just how true the "First World Problems" memes are. I'm going to try and complain about stuff IRL less.

Synthetic drugs are scary! Wouldn't the typical drug ecstasy also be chemically made though?

Iran's gay policies are barbaric.

X isn't synthetic because it isn't trying to be something it's not. Synthetic drugs specifically are targeted at making chemical equivalents of illegal drugs that are "legal". This has been a story for a few years now though and isn't really new per se. Bath Salts and Synthetic Weed (most popularly known as K2 etc) are probably the top purchased. With the movement to legalize marijuana however it will most likely take the niche market for synth weed which isn't a bad thing.
