This is a modified repost from the Display section where I was instructed that I will need a different card to send a digital signal to my HS10.

This leads me to my next quandry. Get a card or a new computer or both.

If I get a All in Wonder 9600 Pro will that do what needs to be done to display HD signals from the windows media format. I know it won't decode any HD like the HD cards but I really don't need that. I just want to import some home video to convert to DVD and be able to hook the comp to the pj for games and picture viewing, and eventually HD display with the new windows media format.

I have been reading and becoming more confused on all the different video cards!

My computer is a Sony VAIO PCV-RX550 with the following specs -

1.5 Ghz Pentium 4

400 Mhz Front Side Bus

256 MB PC 133 SD-RAM (expanded to 512MB)

60 GB Ultra ATA/100 (also another 120 GB drive on now)

16x10x40x CD-RW

10/100Base TX Ethernet

4X AGP nVidia TNT2 M64 (32MB)

2 iLink Ports

4 USB Ports

I know this is too slow for the windows media HD so I'm not sure what is the best option.....upgrade or new. Would a new comp have the appropriate video card? Can I upgrade just the processor so that it will play the windows media HD......?

The more I read on the video cards it seems to be mostly a matter of graphics for games but the more I read the more confusing it is!

Any suggestions on the card or computer would be appreciated.
