Video files to demo HDTV?

315 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  fasteddielv
Is there anywhere on the net that I can download a sample HDTV video file and play it thru my HTPC to see what HDTV resolution looks like on my projector? I am trying to convince the SO that we need to upgrade our cable service to HDTV. She is not dead set against it, but I thing seeing would be believing....

Thanks!

I believe that mkanet obtained permission to distribute a small clip of HD material for this purpose... There have also been some threads by trbarry that may contain info to other pieces...

Please note that any other HD material is copyrighted and is not to be posted online or linked to on the forums...

Hope that helps
There are some samples in this thread: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...hreadid=171590

You'll need Windows Media Player 9 and a +2ghz computer to play the samples decently.

I'm not sure if these are the ideal samples to convince a female partner as these feature some bikini models :D They convinced me however :p
You could go to most any high end electronics retailer and view HDTV.

Take her out to dinner with a few drinks first!!! Loosen her up a little, he, he, ha,ha. Sit her down in one of the home theater show rooms! Crank it up and she will see the difference!
