Hello Everyone. First time posting here. This morning I had a weird problem happen with my new Sony BRAVIA Z Series KDL-46Z5100. I was watching TV when the video suddenly went blank with the audio still running in the background. At first i thought the problem lied with the cable box. However, i had the exact same problems with my blu-ray and ps3. No video, but audio working

The really weird thing that i noticed is that i was still able to view the video and audio settings within the TV and the menus were still visible when i was switching between different video inputs. So the display was still working.

I turned the TV on and off a few times and i still had the same problem. I could view the menus and hear the audio, but with no video coming through.

I decided to turn off the TV for about 20 minutes and everything started working as normal again. I have been trying to replicate the problem but I have had no success.

Has anyone ever had this problem before?
I am debating whether or not i would return the TV because I am still within my 30 day return policy. Thanks for your help.

There is a good chance that you may not be able to replicate the problem. When you turn these televisions off it takes about 2 1/2 minutes for the main realy to dis-engage. After this time period, the television performs a "soft" reset. This is why you did not change things when you turned it off and on in a short time period. Sounds like a glitch and you should be OK from here on.
