I'm using VideoLAN for streaming from DVArchive. At the top of the screen, I'm getting what looks like vertical blanking (only a few pixels though). Is there a way to crop the picture so I don't get this? Does anyone else get this effect?

You are viewing the overscan part of the image, mostly the line 21 data (CC and TT data) It's normal and nothing you can do short of piping the video through something like avisynth with an mpeg filter.

Rest assured, if you ever use this for playback on a TV you'll never see it.

Yes, I realize all of that. I've got my TV tweaked for about 3% overscan which is at the very limit, but it's anoying on the computer screens.
