got 1 more uploading now, and just made another... I turned it up from -8 to -6 and one driver started jumping about 1.5" and the other about .75" I hope the camera catches it!

Good stuff.

What frequency are you using for the break in?

Why do you have the amps plugged into an outlet strip? I know its convenient, but any high current audio load should plug into a non-limited strip. Or straight into a receptacle. The outlet strip you're plugged into I'll bet is 15 amps,..it heats up and becomes less effective.

IMO, the way you operate right at the limits of your gear, you need 2 dedicated circuits, 20amp ideally, each amp gets it's own, and then split your remaining gear across the two circuits.

Thanks

Thanks FOH, you are correct..in addition to a bottle necked power strip, the strip is run off a large gauge extention cord. Though it is very thick, that doesnt help any either. I talked around about adding dedicated circuits and it racked up mighty fast. I'd have to add another breaker box as well as upgrade my power coming in as well as the meter! I simply cant afford it. I have tripped the breaker 6-8 times today when I try to bump it up a notch or two. Most of the time I was running 18Hz, but I tried 22Hz for listed Fs but they walked and bounced all over, tried 23Hz and 24Hz assuming Fs is a touch higher without dustcaps and not broken in yet, 11Hz, and just made a vid of bass I love you. I think I hear clipping on the troublesome EP4000 side. No clip lights but I get noise at a certain point from both drivers and it sounds like it.

I have bad tinsel slap. I now recall last night when i pulled all the old leads out, the terminals were bent down and the leads came in from the top. Today I bent them up and soldered them in from the wrong side!

Yesh, it is a very good test song, I know how that is, I burn out light bulbs and break things all over my house when I decide to turn it up a bit with only two 18's, but four and eight? I hope you two have some sort of vibration damage insurance for the neighbors houses. I have had a guy almost 3 blocks away complain about **** on his shelves and windows rattling.

Two mal-x's in 2 x 6cubic foot boxes and six mach 5 IXL's, four in my IB and 2 in 4 cubic foot boxes.

Wait till you see the new IXL's mark is coming out with! shizam! they are gonna be some giant killers no doubt.

Yep, the SSD18's are 230 each, unless you get the BP power with an extra spider, for another $30. Hella good deal.

I'm still waiting for the second last of my JTR speakers to get here to have the system totally EQ'd but Other than the 2 IXL's in the boxes (getting refinished as of 3 days ago) Everything works great. I have the IB up front and to the left, and the 4 sealed ones at the back. All controlled by a DCX 2496. The last REW sweep I did had a node at [email protected] but the second pair of 18's in the back smoothed it out. It took me a while to get the phase just right so they would all work together but it's nice and smooth. Run off of 4 ep2500's (2 for the IB and 2 for the sealed ones bridged and a RMX5050 for the mal-x's.

My problem now is, I'm gonna be changing all the IXL's to the new ones as soon as mark from mach 5 has them ready (he's 10 mins away from me). I'm getting the first 4 off the line
So I may just build a wall of sealed and go with 12 sealed
that would require a few more amps and I'm out of spots in my Breaker box. The extra 6 spots are all 20 amp lines going to my HT, 4 to the ep2500's and 2 to my Emotiva XPA2 and 5 amps. The 5050 runs on a 220v from the dryer (we now have a gas one)

but I'll tell you the 2 subs in my build thread in my sig were withing 2 db's of my 4 in my IB. The boxes were just too big when I put in my projector.
