I have the same issue. When I create a VNC session (using Ultra VNC on my WMC box) I get a warning that a program has disabled certain aero features, and the desktop goes from very colorful to not at all colorful. If I'm looking at the screen I can still see the WMC interface, but it doesn't come through on the remote session. I've been meaning to see if other VNC implementations have this issue, but I haven't made the time yet.
