I'm trying to understand the viewable angle issue on RPTVs.

Most CRT PR sets fall off pretty quickly as you move from dead center, horizontally or vertically, and often seem to have uneven brightness, especially on large screens. The samsung DLPs have very wide angles horizontally and have very "even" images, but they fall off when you move from center vertically. The Panny DLPs are supposed to be much "wider" horizontally AND vertically but I haven't seen them.

Can someone explain to me why this happens, why DLP sets are better, and why Samsung has only corrected theirs horizontally?
