Hi, I posted a few months ago, and tks to this forum I got a ED Panny TH-42PA20.

Now, I am feeding the unit from ED sources. I wonder how good or bad will be feeding it with HD 1080i material.

What experiences do you have ?

How different is getting HD material on a ED plasma, from getting it on a proper HD unit ?

Do you get better picture from a HD source that from a ED source even displaying it into a ED unit ?

Tks

Your EDTV is able to display HD programming (1080i and 720p) very well. Can you compare it with its HDTV counterpart ? It depends. Some programming (some movies and upconverted material) Yes while other programming (Sports and Live events) No. However, you won't be disappointed with your EDTV.

At 12 feet, I see very little (if any) difference between the ED display and and HD display. I have been comparing a Panasonic 42" with many other HD sets over many weeks. At home, now, am comparing the ED with a Sony HD tube 34 inch set. You will notice some difference at ..up to 10-12 feet on HD content. With less than HD and dvd's there is zero difference. with, perhaps, the ED looking better on some material. If your money is somewhat limited, put that extra $1500 into your audio system. And Happy viewing..and listening.

You will see a remarkable difference viewing HD versus SD on your set. I find myself watching mostly HD now that I have the panny edtv. I sit 7-10 feet away from the plasma, and HD is unbelievably crisp and clear, with no scrren door effect at this distance.
