I don't remember such a thing in the last version. It is intriguing to see the number of people that look at a thread vs the number of replies. When the subject is interesting a lot of folks look, but if the topic is a dud, few reply.

Just an observation.

I've proposed using data such as this for more elaborate forum applications, such as mapping and graphing HDTV program glitches across the country.

Not a programmer myself, but have a fair amount of experience with computers (starting with very complex analog/digital/relay-based mid-'50s designs). With contributions from members with programming experience, such an addition could enhance this polling feature.

Examples: During HBO's "Band of Brothers" some viewers might notice there are frequent 2-second blackouts. They enter this information on a modified polling form. Their zip code is on file or must be entered. The polling data is plotted on a U.S. map and indicates only viewers receiving the West coast feed had this problem. The forum software also 'knows' that CBS in one location isn't using subchannels while certain stations are, helping to account for MPEG-2 motion artifacts in one location but not others. Sounds complex, but suspect this would be pretty basic for lots of programmers. -- John

One thing to remember about the # of views, AFAIK, the number of views represent acutal views not unique views. So when someone sees that someone else has replied to a thread they want to view the reply (or most recent post) which results in a higher view count.
