I have a dilemma! Let's put you in my shoes.


First you are running in a really tight budget.

Let say you could probably get a Infocus LP350 for 2200$ or less with remaining guarantee. To pay for your purchase you will need to sell your Viewsonic PJL830 (Davis DL450 clone) and your HTPC for about the same price. Will you go on with this?


Things you need to consider before making your decision. Trouble involved selling a Viewsonic + a HTPC via E-Bay or local newspaper.

Risk of not getting enough money from the Viewsonic sales + HTPC

Wife no to happy about you, buying another projector when the one you have is doing a great job.


+ other factors I am not thinking of a this time.

I would say that it depends on what sources you are planning to watch.


If I were only using DVD's via the HTPC (or Laser/VHS), then I probably wouldn't bother. The combination you have is quite good.


If I wanted to have HDTV, then I think it might be worth the move up. The LP350 does a great job with HDTV, and you have a good price.


The other thing to consider is that things are changing very rapidly and by next year it will be a new ballgame altogether. While this can always be said, I think that the next 12-18 months will prove a period of great change for HT and HDTV.


HDTV blows away all other video sources BTW, there is just no comparison.
