ViewSonic PJ250 Vs. PT-AE700U

764 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  AVWH
Hi,

I have a ViewSonic JP250 and love it, its a bit loud but HD picture is great (using DVI).

Can anyone tell me how the PJ250 compares with the AE700U?

I really like the lens shift with the 700U but "worried" about going back to LCD from DLP.

Also how is the bulb life with the AE700U?

Thanks!

I'm ordering mine tomorrow when the rebate starts. There are a ton of reviews in this forum on the AE700- just do a search.
If you plan on a hdmi connection, I would look at a different pj.

Care to expand on this some?

If noise is an issue, the AE700 will be a major upgrade in that respect.

It is absolutely whisper quiet (except at start-up and shut-down, when the fan cranks just briefly).

The AE700 bulb is supposed to have a 2500-3000 hour life; and up to 5000 hours if you run the PJ in low lamp mode.

I don't know the JP250 to offer any comparisons.

The HDMI cryptic post probably has to do w/ cropping issues, which has been discussed at length in several other AE700 threads (try a search for HDMI cropping, if that's a possible deal-breaker for you).
