VIP622 Tuner to Pioneer 640
I want to record OTA digital broadcasts converted to analog on my 640.
My unique problem is I want the closed caption info from the digital MPEG2 signal added to line 21 of the analog signal VBI output from the tuner.
The Samsung tuners do not do that but the Dish VIP622 does receive OTA and convert the closed caption to the VBI.
Will the VIP622 work for OTA (receive/record/playback) without a subscription from DISH for the satellite signals? If so can I use it to do what I want?
Any other suggestions on how to do this?
