Does anyone have an experience with the Theta Miles? Any feedback would be appreciated.
I'm thinking about using a balanced version (which is truly balanced w/duplicated circuits) to create a "virtual 2/3-channel system." In the two channel case, I will connect the XLRs directly to the XLR input on my amps and use the analog volume control on the Theta Miles for the virtual 2-channel system. At the same time, my Lexicon DC-1 will be connected to the amp using the RCAs. To switch modes, I simply flick the (balanced/unbalanced) switch on the back of the Classe CA-200 to swap between dedicated two-channel and home theater processed setup w/Lexicon, 5-channels, sub, etc...
This same setup will work with a subwoofers filters that can handle XLRs -- like the Aerial SW-12. A direct / non-direct mode will switch between the subs crossovers w/XLRs and the Lexicon's crossovers (direct mode) w/RCAs. In theory. Does anyone know if this will work for sure?
Has anyone used the Miles? Opinions? Are the DACs much better than the Lexicon's Crystal DACs? Burr-brown?
Of course, I will audition, but I'd like to get some feedback. This new configuration seems like a pretty cool way to get the best of both worlds...
Happy Listening, Mark
