Search didn't turn up anything so here goes. I have used VideoRedo to create an .mpg file from a PVR recording (originally from a Topfield PVR, basically an MPEG-2 transport stream file with some proprietary headers in it).
The strange thing is that when I try to play this file in Media Player or VMC I get audio, but no picture. Windows correctly displays a thumbnail in the Explorer, though.
The file plays fine in Arcsoft TMT.
There is also no problem with regular DVD playback (which is also MPEG-2) so I don't believe it is a codec problem.
Why would Media Center not be able to play something as simple as an .mpg file?
