I would stick with MyMovies because version 3 should be coming out shortly and will address the performance/feel issues that you described.

Vista DVD Library vs My Movies?
I finally dove into the world of HTPC first hand and would like some experienced HTPC users opinion on this.
I initially started to use My Movies for my DVD rips. However, I'm wondering now if I'd be better off using the built in Vista DVD Library?
My Movies does have very nice search features and just more features in general, however I like the performance and feel of the DVD Library over My Movies better.
Opinions?

My Movies is awesome, I don't know what I'd do without it.
I am currently using both.
I use DVD Library for my small amount of online titles since I still need to build a decent storage server.
I use MyMovies 2 for offline titles. I too can't wait for v3 release and hope it is just as slick as using the DVD Library. If it is as smooth or smoother which I expect since it is using a DB then I will definitely go 100% MyMovies.
