I am trying to locate approximately 8 Visteon high back theater seats. There are about 4000 of these seats floating around. The seats were originally installed in a 20 screen complex in Southgate, Michigan but were replace due to some kind of defect (I think). Most of the seats were sold for $18 each through Gibraltar Trade Center, in Taylor, Michigan, sometime in late 2000 or early 2001. They are upholstered in blue fabric with vinyl head rests. The arm rests include cup holders and the back of the seats recline. I might be able to produce a picture if needed.

Any information will help my cause and would be greatly appreciated. I know this is a long shot, but It's worth a try.

I would consider buying them new if I can't find what I'm looking for. Does anybody familiar with Visteon know if they still make these seats?

Thanks again for any info you can provide.

The seats are still in production. They are now made by a company called Greystone Intl. located here in Michigan.

I'm going to hold out for a while to see if any of the originals turn up.

I live in Michigan and have also heard about the Visteon Theater Seat sale at Gibraltar, which I unfortunately missed. When hearing of this I contacted Visteon headquarters only to find they were no longer producing the seats.

I first came across the seats in Birmingham, MI at a specialty store named Audio Video Alternatives. They only had or still may have two, that I was told some guy dropped off to advertise the seats. That guy may have been Chris Van Auken at Precision Home Theater who used to sell them direct at $526- $672 a piece. I have a printout of the dimensions and seat spec from Chris. The models were called the Barcelona (a basic model), Manhattan (their top selling mid-line model), and the Kingston (the high-back top end model).

At that price I kind of sat on the fence about buying, but still very much covet those seats. They seemed to be derived from a modified bucket car seat, but being from Visteon were like no other I tried in comfort and style.

Hope this helps, let me know if you come across the seats. Good luck!

This price is ridiculous.

Greystone Intl., the company that produces the seats, will sell them to me direct for less than half of the price you listed. PM me and I'll tell you how much. The seat that is floating around is the Manhattan model. All the contact info you need can be found at their website www.greystoneintl.com. Ask for Gaylord Stanton.

The chairs that were sold through Gibraltar were defective, thats why they were replaced. I'm sorry to here that people are paying that kind of money for chairs hat aren't up to spec.

Please let me know if I can help you further.

Yes, that's what reminded me that these seats are out there. He found his seats through the forum and suggested I do the same.
