Hi All,

It's time to upgrade my old 50" TV to a new 60" TV and not sure what to get:

VIZIO E600i-B3 60" for $879.99

OR

Sony KDL-60W850B 60" for $899.99


Now if I can pull a rabbit out of my butt and convince my wife to let me spend a little more I was thinking of either:

VIZIO P602ui-B3 60" 4K for $1299.99

OR

Sony XBR-55X800B 55" 4K for $1049.99


Which one would you pick for the HD's and which one would you pick for the 4Ks?

Who is selling the 850B for that cheap? At those prices (and assuming the Sony is legit) it's the Sony, no contest as long as you don't mind the extra eeight and wedge shape.

The Sony W850B is a way better TV than Vizio E. The E doesn't have enough zones for the local dimming to matter and the local dimming behaves oddly. Vizio also uses fake refresh rates, so the 60" E is really a 60Hz TV while the Sony is 120Hz.

In regards to 4K, the Vizio P will have better blacks than the Sony X800B's IPS panel. The Sony will have superior processing, upscaling, and likely slightly better color accuracy.

What's your application (e.g. general family room TV, home theater, etc.) and what will you primarily be using it for? I personally opted for the 850B vs. spending extra for 4K because my viewing distance is about 15 feet and we will be watching primarily kids shows on it for the next 5 years.
