I'm looking at a 70" TV for my basement. I won't be playing video games on it. Just general TV viewing, sports, and movies.
The Vizio M Series 70". $2100
http://www.costco.com/Vizio-70%22-Class-1080P-240Hz-3D-Smart-LED-HDTV-M701D-A3.product.100049043.html
Complaints about this TV:
- Some people complain about the picture quality, but many seem to be impressed
- Smart TV function, which I really won't use since I have AppleTV
- Remote. Seems like it has been fixed, but a universal remote addresses the issue.
The Sony KDL Series 70". About $1700 at Costco

Complaints:
- Network connectivity. Again, not using it.
- Some people complain about picture quality when reading the Amazon reviews, but most people are very impressed with the picture.
I had heard that Sony had really taken a step back in the TV business, so I'm not sure if it is worth it or not.
