Vizio P42HDTV10 Questions

Hey there - few month lurker first time poster on the forums here. I have a few questions about the Vizio P42HDTV10 Plasma and didn't see a thread for it already.


My wife and I are new Costco members (pause for applause) and we saw the Vizio mentioned in the store the other day. Does anyone here own one of these? If so, how do you like it? How long have you had it? Does it have any quirks that I need to be aware of when considering it?


Also, if you've purchased one of these and had to return it, I'd like to hear from you as well. Thanks in advance for the info!

I've had one since March and I am quite satisfied with its performance. And you just can't beat that price!

There's a thread on here devoted solely to this TV with hundreds of posts...run a quick search and it should come right up.

I did a search before I posted and the only ones that seemed to come up were the 50 inch plasma (the P50HD) or Vizio LCD panels. Is the P42HD pretty much the same as the P50HD except with a smaller screen?

On on my 2nd Vizio (1st one went out after 1 week) and after 2 weeks, the screen went black and in the upper left came up a green test screen when I changed the channel. I powered everything down, checked the cables and when I am in HDMI or component, the picture is heavily tinted green. When I use the AV1 setting with RCA cables, the picture is fine. Is this a board problem? I don't want to take it back again as my wife is ready to throw in the towel.


Any suggestions?
