My setup is as follows:

PS3 bitstream via HDMI to my

Vizio VW47lf output set to dolby digital to my

Onkyo TXSR303 via Toslink.

My PS3 & OTA send dts/dolby signal to the Onkyo. What is interesting is when watching DTS-HD movies my receiver shows DTS but DOLBY HD shows prologic. So am I listening to a actual HD soundtrack?

You should never set it up that way. Just go optical from the PS3 to the AVR.

Only 1 optical & 1 coaxial input on the TXsr303, tv & ps3 have optical out only. If I follow your recommendation I would lose OTA dolby digital.

Never the less, it is considered a big no no to have your display between your audio source(s) and audio processor. All sorts of possible negative ramifications can take place.

If it's working for you, I say stick with it.
