Hi,

I recently bought the Vizio SB36512-F6 Dolby atmos enabled speakers and have it setup in the living room. It sounds great with excellent surround sound effect but i do not seem to get the height speaker's effect with the current setup that i have.

I have connected my Xbox one S to the HDMI IN of the soundbar and the soundbar to TV via HDMI ARC. I use a TV stand so I have placed the speakers in front of the TV at ear level the subwoofer is right next to the couch and the rear speakers are placed little behind to the right/left of the couch and rotated a little to face the couch. Also, my roof is drywall and is about 12" high.

In XBOX audio settings Bitstream out option and "allow the audio receiver to decode the audio" options are selected, When i play the Insects demo of XBOX one S a green light glows on the soundbar confirming that dolby audio is processing, but i do not feel much difference when i turn the spatial audio on or off. The clarity is excellent but i think im missing the atmos factor for some reason:( .

Please let me know if there is something that im missing here. Like if the height of the soundbar needs to adjusted along with distance of the couch from TV, I can get those measurements too if needed. I know some folks would say get a receiver with speakers to get true atmos but this best suited my budget and i'm just trying to get the max out of what this system supports:)

You may adjust the height channels from the VIZIO SmartCast app.
