Just picked up the VSB200 Sound bar, the model without the sub. Blows away the lousy audio from my Viz, now Sony. So easy to set-up, a caveman could do it. That aside, using the analog RCA provided cables,to my top box audios ports. I bought an optical cable for improved sound. However, when connecting it to the TV(2 different ones) from the sound bar optical port, no audio. Tried the TV optical port and the comcast top box one(did get buzzing sound). All settings are correct in the audio menus. Could the optical jack be bad on sound bar? Happy with the RCA sound, however, spent $26 for the cable. Thanks

Possible a bad optical cable, try another one.

could it be the optical port on sound bar being bad? Don't have another cable, it's brand new, out of package.

You should see like a red light glowing out of the optical port. If not then the optical port is not working.

I experenced the same problem when I first set mine up. I solved my problem by hitting the input button off and on several times. Sounds stupid I know but it worked for me. Good luck.
