Anyone know who actually makes Vizio TV's? And, are they worth considering? What is their quality etc.? they have become the largest selling flat screen company now which is amazing. They have now passed Samsung by a slight bit and have blown away Sony ... taking alot of their business. They do not manufacture their own sets however, that much I know. Anyone know more? I, myself, am locked into having to find the largest screen I can fit into my armoire with a 39" inside width, and I prefer high quality, reliability, best features, and price. So, currently seem to only have the new thin-bezel 40 inch sets: Sony KDL Z 4100, and Toshiba Regza 40 XF 550 to consider. thanks, Mike

Considering that Vizio does a 42" and 47", that gives it away that they're probably using LG panels, more than likely. It used to be that they were using Samsung panels when they were doing 46" a year or two ago, but that probably got to be too costly for them, no surprise.

I use to have a VU42LF and was happy with it other than the HDMI cutting out. I had to return it but Costco didn't have it in stock so I ended up getting a Toshiba Regza instead.

The Vizio was $250 cheaper and had all a lot of features like PIP and split screen.
