I'm having an odd issue with songs being played on Rock Band 2. When playing songs, for example Anyway you want it, the vocals are coming from the left and right channel and the center channel is only getting some nasty sounding bass (surrounds are getting the crowd noise). At first I thought it was a decoding issue with my receiver (Marantz SR 8400) or my Paradigm center channel was going bad. But when I played some Left 4 Dead, it sounded perfect in 5.1 with the game's opening cut scene dialogue coming from the center channel. I also haven't had any issue with this during movies.

I'm totally baffled as to why this is happening. I double checked and there is a checkmark in the audio settings for Dolby Digital in the game so that's not the issue. Perhaps it's the song? Any ideas as to what might be causing this issue?

Are you referring to actual singers sound or the sound coming from a microphone when you sing into it?

The actual singers (I play the guitar only so no mic). The singers are sent to the left and right channels and the center channel gets a what sounds like the bass line for a song but it sounds really bad. I took my center channel (Paradigm Reference) to an audio dealer I trust today and he checked it with one his setups. No problems with the speaker at all. The receiver works fine with other games and movies so it's not the receiver. I did verify with my SPL that the speakers were balanced correctly and have run the same song with and without the sub. Perhaps the Dolby Digital setup for Rock Band was designed to send the singers to the left and right channel instead of the center channel?
