I recently purchased a Sony Bravia television, Yamaha rx-v663 receiver and Kef 3005 speakers. I am also using hi def cable service. I have been tuning for a week and can't seem to be able to adjust so the voices are not drowned out by background. The only solution seems to be cranking the center speaker to max which pretty much cancels out surround. Is this my only fix?" Thanks.

Try to pull the center out of the setup and see if it is any better.


Room issues tend to cause this as much as anything else.


PS: get a db meter to double check any auto cal you may or may not have going on as well.
