I have the chance to exchange my 3-year old Qualia 006, plus $840, for a new VPL-VW60. I'm on my 4th optical block and Sony no longer wants to repair my set. The current optical block has color purity issues but the picture is still pretty darn good.


Has anyone out there had the chance to compare the image of these two products? I understand that this is not an apples-to-apples comparison but i'm trying to decide if the exchange makes sense.


The Qualia cost me around $10K and the VPL-VW60 sells for around $5K. My warranty just expired.


I will also need a screen and projector mount.

With good light control and the proper setup the VW60 will stomp the 006.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure if it makes sense on the cost side but having your endorsement on picture quality comparison makes my decision much easier.
