I now have front heights setup on my theater room and want to test them out. When I hook up all 9.1 speakers (I have surround back installed as well) and manually adjust the sound, it plays sound from all the speakers. However, I know the system only has 7 amps, so it is using the rear surround amp for the front height speakers during the setup.


The question is, how do I tell the AVR which set of speakers to use? Is it as simple as disconnecting the rears?

NVM, I found it.


You have to ensure the Front Heights are yet to Small in the Speaker Setup Menu and then you can press the Standard Surround button and select the the PLIIz Height choice. By default, the front heights and front wides are set to NO, meaning they do not exist.
