I just mounted my Panny 42" Plasma on the wall and wantto run the wires through the wall now. I do not want to add a outlet in the middle of the wall so want to run the power wires in the wall. I do not have any insulation so I thought maybe about just dropping a metal conduit thru the wall and run the power wire through it? Is this really that much of a fire hazard that I cant just drop the tv power wire inside the hollow wall? Do I have to use conduit? Any other recomendations?

Not a great idea to do as it will void your homeowner's insurance if the cause of the possible fire was from that power wire. Your home could get struck by lightning and start a fire on the power wire. A lot cheaper to just hire an electrician to move an electrical outlet to the back of your mounted TV.

By all means do it right. Have an electrician install a recessed outlet. The type used for electric clocks is perfect.

eh, no need to hire someone,. DIY and save your money. easy to do.

You should definitely install an outlet in the wall behind your TV. If your uncomfortable with wiring, you should hire someone. No need to take chances.
