I have a panasonic th-42px20 TV, and I really like it. Its in the bedroom and it serves its purpose.

The sound when on hd is terrible, I'm using the regular speakers that came with the TV. I believe they must be in the back of the TV. I cant turn the TV up high enough to hear it.

I thought I would just buy one of the wall mounted speakers and hand it on the wall above the TV, I have just enough space for some of them.

When I looked in the manual it says I cant connect speakers directly to the TV set with out a amp.

I have googled and found only PC speakers.. It is in the bedroom, I really don't want to sock a bunch of money into sound. I just want to be able to hear it when I'm watching it.

Any help would be great!

Yes, you will need a integrated amp. You can find cheapies at Radio Shack that should fit the bill. or a open box at bb or cc. Expect to spend more then 25 bucks but less then 100 for one. Why not get budget stero system for music also mabye.
