I own Definitive Technology Pro Cinema 2000 speakers. Due to WAF, I would like to have my contractor build squares in the wall for my speakers and then cover them with either a grill or mesh.


My contractor said that wouldn't be a problem but I have no idea about the mesh or grill covers, how to make them and install them, and how it will effect the sound. Please give me any input you can on this. The speakers have passive bass radiators on the tops and on the sides for the center.

I'm sorry, but doing so will totally kill their sound quality. Inwall speakers are designed to accomodate for the response from the nearby drywall. If you care about the sound, either mount them on pedestals or start looking for some decent inwall speakers.
