A screw into a stud. I did this
with my RB-35's but mine are mounted to the front of my sound panels. The black metal channels are screwed to the wood frame of the sound panel and I just installed a screw into the channel for the key hole bracket. The lower channel keps the speaker from sinking into the panel.

Reviving the thread because I have a similar question...
Both the RB-51 and the RS-42 have dual 1/4" 20 threaded inserts. Typically, when using a mount like an OmniMount, you would screw the mount's arm into a single threaded insert that is located in the middle of the speaker. So how would the dual threaded inserts on these speakers be used? You can't screw the mount's arm into just one of them because the speaker would hang crooked.
I know I could use the keyhole to hang them on the wall, but I have a situation where I need to hang them from the ceiling using a mount.

you can also us an adjustable "shelf" type mount for heavier speakers

m_vanmeter's post got me to look into Pinpoint mounts (a.k.a. B-Tech, http://www.pinpointmounts.com/ ) and, sure enough, they offer a bracket that allows the mount to be connected to both threaded inserts. The only problem is their bracket (regardless of the Pinpoint model I looked at) only supports inserts up to 2.625" apart (or 2.75" depending on the web site you look at) and the Klipsch inserts are 3" apart.

I bought some OmniMount 20.0 speaker mounts. The mounting plate fits the dual threaded inserts on the RB-51 and RS-42 perfectly.
Though to mount either the RB-51 or the RS-42 from the ceiling, you'd have to hang them upside down so the OmniMount's mounting arm can reach the mounting plate. The Klipsch logo on the RS-42 is on the speaker grill and the grill is reversible. But the Klipsch logo on the RB-51 is on the speaker itself, so it would be upside down (if you care about that kind of thing).
In the end, I'm going to mount the RB-51 by screwing the mounting plate into the top of the speaker and hanging it from the ceiling that way. (Not because of the logo being upside down, but because it saves me some space -- prevents the speakers from sticking out into the room too much.) And the RS-42's I'm just going to use the keyhole on the back and mount them flush on the wall.

and I will have to angle my speakers at 45 degrees and I could not find a mount for this
Also the surround speakers are not rectangular shaped for the reference series
So I probably cannot use the side holding mount as well

What are people doing to mount these? Can I just use a nail into a stud w a spacer?Sorry about that gan222.

Yes you can use nails. I didn't use any spacers just a nail into the stud. I used a 3 1/2 inch nail and screwed it in about 2 inches. That way the nail stuck out and angled the speakers down towards the listening position. Later on I bought speaker mounts that could hold the weight of the speaker which took a minute to find.

i want to add something to this thread. Pinpoint makes a good looking mount called the AM-25 mount. They claim it can hold up to 12 lbs. I have the Klipsch RB-51ii speaker pair. A review on Amazon said the mount does not live up to it's claim. After doing research I thought I'd give it a shot. They totally fail as a ceiling mount. The combined speaker pair weight reported by Klipsch is 20.9 lbs. The mounts as claimed should hold the speakers of approximately 10.4 lbs each. After being disappointed by these somewhat expensive mounts as they are sold separately, I decided to try 1/2 black plumbing pipe. I got two flanges, one 3" straight pipe, one 90 degree elbow, and some wing nuts and washers. It worked like a charm and was about 18.00 dollars per speaker. It allowed for horizontal movement and with a little turn of the wing nut, it would allow the speaker to tilt down if I wanted it to. I did not because I'm using these as front presence speakers. If you can give up a few style points for security, the piping works great!
