Firstly, please don't laugh at my lack of any technical knowledge whatsoever.

And please use baby language in response, I would be very happy with that.


So, I want to connect my old but wonderful TH42PHD6, which has no HDMI, to Apple TV, which requires HDMI. I don't want to go fitting "blades" whatever they are, I just hope to go to RadioShack (or similar) and buy some sort of converter then shove the two ends together and hope it works.

Do I have ANY chance of success? Thanks in advance.

The HDFury should work for you. You can go into the monitor's menu and change the VGA input from PC to RGB which essentially changes this input to Component Video.
