I have a pair of Audioengine 5 speakers that I want to hang from a low ceiling -- not near any wall or corner. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to rig that?

It would need to be some kind of arm with a flat base to hang down and hold the speaker or a sort of "swing" that would mount to a loop coming from the ceiling.

Thanks.

Pinpoint mounts are pretty popular here. See if they have anything that would work for your application.

I am using a similar mount to the Pinpoint AM40/41 for my DefTech SM-55 speakers but the seller I got them from on eBay no longer sells them. Only real advantage to these over the AM40/41 was that they were cheaper. The new Pinpoint AM100 might work if you have a sloped vaulted ceiling. You might have to put screws into your A5+ if you get the side-clamping mounts. I did this with my SM-55 speakers. Some of the Pinpoint mounts have safety wires that have to be attached to the speaker with screws. No free lunch if you want to be safe.

As far as mounting, I located a stud and used 3" lag bolts for one side and got some toggle drywall screws from ( HD/Lowes ) for the other side of each speaker mount. The ToggleLock ( I think that is what they are called ) are about $7-9 for two and just push into the drywall and toggle into a T shape.
