OK, so right now I have a 58" Samsung plasma in my bedroom. Id like to go to a much larger screen. The Bedroom is about 16' width x 12' deep. 8' ceilings. I basically have about 10-11' to work with from the back of the headboard/shelves to the wall where the screen would be mounted. I have adjustable shelves that go all the way up to the ceiling and down to the headboard of the bed and would prefer to mount it on one(either on top of shelf or under it)if possible. I really cant mount on the ceiling because I have a ceiling fan above the bed. As for the screen, width isnt an issue, but I probably have only about 56" of vertical space otherwise the end of the bed/feet etc are going to be getting in the way of the screen. There are 3 windows in the room. 2 of which will be behind the screen, one off to the side, I can darken them up pretty good if needed. Most of my TV watching and viewing will be done at night.

So what does this give me for options? I have about $2k to spend on the projector and screen give or take a few hundred at most. Id like it to be 1080p and be able to play 24p natively, good deep blacks and accurate colors are high on the list too, but Im not sure how good PQ will be compared to a higher end Samsung B650 plasma display.

Also, I assume all projectors play 24p content natively?

Any info or suggestions would be welcome. 58" is just to small.........would love to have a screen in the 70-80" range.

Theres a lot of projectors in that range you can go with. The two i would recommend are DLPs and hopefully you're immune to rainbows.. CHeck out both the Mitsu HC3800 or the Optoma hd20s threads.. They both have great reviews.. Good luck with your purchase. I actually have my PJ setup in my room as well and it makes you lazy! Seriously I can't go to the movies anymore and sit through a 2 hour movie when i'm used to laying down while I watch movies..
