We have a WEB audio server where we play about 100 CD's in a random fashion 24 hours a day. I have noticed that it does not really play in a real radom fashion.(it is a JVC300 CD unit). I am looking for a player with at least 200 disk capacity that in the Random mode, plays each track once, remembers that track and does not play it again until all other tracks have been played. If you know of a unit that remembers what it has played, please let me know.

Kenwood CD 2260M -200 disc changer will play in complete random fashion. As long as you do not stop the random play or turn off the unit. Unfortunately in my case the "randomness" can be a pain .... Heavy metal one minute, Christmas music the next...etc...Check the Sony website I think they have a 300 disc unit that will do the same thing and you can hook a keyboard to the Sony for easy disc labeling. The Kenwood can be had @ the University Circuit City for $149 (several floor models)

I have a kenwood 325M but its random play is just that. It might play the same song twice in a 30 minute period depending on the random number generator or it may never play it. Now, if it runs long enough, it will eventually play all the songs. What I need is a machine that removes the played track from the random play list which means it has to remember what disk and what track it played. I may never find this but this is what I am looking for. I am in Rock Hill so I am going to make a treck to circuit city and best buy this am when they open and try to see the manuals which may be a real pain especially at best buy.
