I've decided that if I can manage to get an amp for cheap that can handle

these speakers,

I'll reuse 'em. They were with an old stereo system (radio, tape deck, 3 CD changer). The cheapest compatible amp on Newegg is $90, and that's far too much to spend on these. I see there are quite a few amp boards on eBay; would I have to buy a power supply separately or what? I've never done this sort of thing before and could use some advice, thanks!

Here's the specs, as listed on the back:
Code:
Code:
Model 1802
Full response: 5" woofer w/ 4" Sonic Dome speaker & piezo tweeter
Frequency response: 100-13,000 Hz
4 ohm [each]
EDIT: Decided to get this .

For those speakers? 10watts is pushing it in all honesty.

These sorts of speakers don't jive well with real equipment, they are really designed to work with the stereo system they were sold with.

I feel you unduely (sp?) risk the higher end amp / avr that you connect them to.

Oh, so 10 amps should be enough after all...?

Yeah, by no means was I considering investing in "real equipment" for these old things. No, I plan on taking your previous advice and getting something cheap from a local pawn shop. I just wanted to know what exactly I'd be looking for, is all. No need to get something with higher wattage when it's not needed. Waste not!
