Warner Home Video has announced that they will bring 'Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology' to Blu-ray on March 10th. This box set will feature the four Batman feature films made between 1989-1997 - 'Batman', 'Batman Returns', 'Batman Forever', and 'Batman & Robin' - in 1.85:1 1080p VC-1 accompanied by 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtracks.

This five-disc set (one of the films will come a two-disc set, while the others will only be one BD-50) features the following special features:

* 18 Hours of Must See Profiles, Documentaries, and Making-of Featurettes

* Director's Commentary by Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher

* 9 Music Videos

Yeah... in every territory but the US. But judging by Austin Powers and the Matrix box, I don't think there's a very good chance Warner will break these up for the US.

I suggest ordering from dvdcrave, cheapest price unless amazon UK runs a promotion.

I'll wait for the US release since I need every boxset available.

Are any of the foreign releases 2 discs. They might do a digital copy for one of them like they did with the Matrix. On second thought a single dvd with extras is more likely.

Just as I did with the Austin Powers set since I only like the first one, I will be avoiding this box set since I only care for the first 2. I really am getting tired of these box sets only coming out first.

That's because they know people wouldn't get too excited to buy Forever and Robin separately!

I'm waiting for the boxset that's nothing but these no-hoper titles all put together.

Batman & Robin

The Godfather, Part 3

Bleah. I really can't justify paying money for anything with Batman and Robin in it. That movie was flat out awful - I still want my money back for renting it. At least the other Schumacher Batman flick was entertaining with Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carey even if I couldn't take it seriously as a Batman vehicle.

Oh I think I got one: Highlander 2!

Back to topic, the first 2 from Tim Burton for me as well... They really should have left Robin in his closet!

See, I have less of an issue with movies like that. I hate Matrix Revolutions but I had no problem buying the boxset because it's one complete and connected story. I'm no fan of Star Trek V but I'd have no problem buying it with the rest of the movies as a set or on its' own. The Batman movies, on the other hand, are completely different. Batman and Batman Returns are connected to each other - but they're sure as hell not connected to Batman Forever or Batman and Robin. I'd love to be able to just buy the two Burton movies.

Here in the UK, they're selling them individually. I already got Returns and Forever from Blockbuster,waiting on Batman 89. I refuse to spend a cent on Batman and Robin. Forever, while not on the level of the first two, is leagues better than B & R. It was flawed as hell,but still enjoyable and I liked Val Kilmer's portrayal of both Batman and Bruce Wayne.
