For those of you looking for a low ball deal PAC-2000 might be attractive, but trust me they are not the place to do business. I had a customer that ordered a few TVs from them and sent them a certified payment to avoid a 3% CC up-charge and they held onto the money for three weeks to later decide they weren't going to honor the deal. You hear these kind of stories over and over and it's ashame that businesses can get away with that kind of money floating fraud.

anyway...buyer beware.

I ordered mine 3 weeks ago and still have not receive it yet. It's sitting at bekin's warehouse. They said I should get it this week. But I wasn't charged 3 percent for using a credit card. I don't think they do that. I believe it said that on their website.

So far I have had a pretty good experience with PAC-2000. I ordered on Tuesday 8/26. It was shipped the same Friday and was delivered to my house on Wed 9/3 morning. Not too bad considering that the long labor day weekend and the unit was shipped from Houston, TX to CA.

You can "SAVE" 3% by sending certified funds. So basically they are charging you 3% if you use a credit card. This guy's order was for 5 TVs of different variety and they flat out opted to not honor the negotiated deal that he had in writing. I'm sure some have had a good experience and will continue to do so, but for me I say watch out.

I had mine about 5 days after I ordered it (Bekins called to schedule the delivery just 3 days after I ordered it). Bu I do live on the east coast (NH). The unit was actually shipped out of a Tweeter warehouse in Canton, MA.

Maybe there's a trend in the models they ship fast and the ones they delay shipping. If they have them in stock then those might be the ones they ship right away. For the ones they don't have in stock, you get stuck waiting for them to become available. However, if they are taking your orders and money without saying the model is out of inventory, then they are doing customers a serious misjustice. They should take your order but not charge your card until they can ship, giving you an easy way out if you choose to cancel.

Might also be location related. There are no Tweeters out here on the West Coast so getting a shipping company to transport it from a wherehouse in Texas or someplace in the East may take a bit more negotiating while still trying to keep the shipping price low so that Pac-2000 can make a decent profit. Just a thought.

Maybe they aren't making money on some orders, or at least enough money. If they hold off on shipping long enough, the customer may cancel and pac-2000 avoids an unprofitable order. Just a thought.

I think I know how they got their name. You needed to order in year 2000 to be receiving your item now! :D

When your making money on a Sale you deliver the goods, when your not

making any money because the customer does not want to buy the Ext Warranty or cables for $120 you don't deliver the goods. It's really simple.

Thanks, Jim, for the correction. I'll have to check them out when I travel to that part of California.

Thanks, Randy. I've been looking something that's close to me that's an alternative to The Good Guys, Fry's, and Circuit City.

Another great alternative to the above places is Ken Crane's in Torrance, and their outlet/wharehouse in Lawndale (a few miles S/E of LAX).

They have lots of Plasmas, LCDs, and RPTVs there, with good prices and mature knowledgeable old-school salesmen.
