Wavy Lines

325 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  johnnykretentiv
I've got a Hitachi CP-RX60 and every now and again the image starts projecting rolling diagonal wavy lines, as though its picking up some sort of inteference. This only ever happens on S-Vid or Composite, RGB is fine.

e.g Im on my PS2 connected through s-vid and it starts happening, if I quickly plug my DVD player in (through s-vid) the image is fine, switching back to PS2 its still happening. Composite seems always to be affected regarless of input, when it occurs that is. This is pullzing me as 90% of the time its trouble free and when it does start happening its only lasts about 5-10 mins.

Any help is much appreciated.

I've now narrowed this down to crap cables. If I plug my 10m Composite (RG59) straight into the source its seems good. Its when I have an interconnect (1m) cable between the two that it happens. I forgot to add, my PS2 s-vid cable is home-made so I bet its not properly screened or earthed in accordance to whatever regulations so this has to be liable to interference.
Most likely bad cables or a bad connections. I have had the same problem and determined it was a loose connection.
