He's Baaaaaack,10 years later.
"The Thunder Deck", 1993 in my Fraternity House, (brothers gave it that name
) I simply put my 2 car subs under a deck we built and turned the lights out for VHS movies in stereo on my 32" Sony Trinitron. Then Thunder Deck II in my old house, in 2006 (AVS Thread in my Sig).
Fast Forward 10 years to today....new house, Thunder Deck III. House is 4000 sq ft, Toll Brothers home, we're finishing the basement and gotta have a Theater. This one is going to be bigger in every way, about 16' wide, 24' long, with a pool table are directly behind separated by a halfwall with square columns and soffit above.....and dual steps on either side to enter the Theater Area. Here's the plans and unfinished pics.
The concept behind the "Thunder Deck" is for the seating area to be a raised/floating deck (2x12s resting on the floor plates at the walls, about 2" above the concrete floor). My 15" subwoofer will be in the floor, under where the coffee table will be, firing up through the carpet with a 4" port. (all designed for the exact enclosure specs). My last Theater was 14' square, with 2x10s, and a 12" subwoofer.
Keep the comments and suggestions coming.
