I just looked at all of my stuff at home to take a final inventory of the new wires/cables I need to buy to hook up to my S780, and noticed my TV only has analog audio connections! I was shocked, because it's 1 year old, and is a Toshiba Cinema Series. it has every other connection possible except for coaxial digital or optical audio connections :( oh well, can't win them all.

You don't need audio out from your TV, just component in. DVD, STB, CD, G Player, should be connected to your receiver via digital audio.

really? so as long as I have the component video going from TV to receiver, and have both video and audio from my DVR to the receiver, I should be set on audio just watching TV?

yes cuz ur a/v receiver will intercept the sound so it never reaches your tv speakers at all...the component cables obviously supply only video to ur "monitor"
