I scored these on ebay for $300 and picked them up today (they were fairly local). They were hardly used and were in the original boxes with all packaging!

I have first gen evo 40's and they sound incredible especially for the price and quality of the cabinets. I have been thinking about getting the opus center how does it match with the evo's? oh yeah and congrats on the purchase

How do you like them? I have the Evo2-10, which is basically the same thing but a stand-mount instead of a tower (and not as pretty), and absolutely love them, especially for music which is the majority of what they get used for. Drum hits, especially snare, are among the most realistic sounding I've heard. Anyway, enjoy.....great speaker if they're anything like the 10s.

Hey gmoney, I have first gen evo30s that I had running sb duty, they were amazing but I've been experimenting with my opus tri-surrounds and my original opus 1s, and though the evo series (both first and second gen) sound amazing you really need your mains and surrounds to have that wharfedale midrange soft dome, once I swapped them around again with the opus1s in front and the trisurrounds on the side it really opened back up, but the experiment was fun.

Hey boulder, I really like them, they're a bit cleaner and more analytic than my opus's, I think if I were going to use the evo2s as mains i'd need the 50s.

What kind of rugs do you have the speakers on?

Those are rubber mats, ace.

I took some more pics today, of my opus's, and my evo30s (which I may be selling).

i wish i would have jumped on the opus 1's when they were blowing them out, but i love my evo 40's i just wish the center was a little stronger i would say its the only weak point in the system if there is one.
