Hey folks -

Any advice would be appreciated:

I'm planning on getting a new TV & a HT audio system to go with it. I'm also considering a new progressive scan DVD player - so any advice would be appreciated on which DVD player. Sounds like I want one with a Faroudja chip? I'd like to spend less than $250.

I also have noticed that my current DVD player (Sony Dp-NC600) sucks at playing DVD-R discs that come from my Mac. The people on the screen are jittery - so any advice about DVD-R playback would be helpful too.

So far I'm thinking I'll get the following:

TV: (1 of these depending on viewing)

Panasonic CT-34WX53

Sony KV-34HS510

Sony KV-34XBR910

HT:

Onkyo HT-S760

or maybe Pansonic SA-XR25

DVD player?

JVC XV-SA600BK?

Help?

Thanks

Yes for a top-quality DVD player go with one with the Faroudja de-interlacer. The cheapest new models with it are the Mitsubishi DD-8040 (under $250) and the Denon DVD-910 (under $299) at stores like Tweeter or Good Guys. Or you can try to get a used Faroudja-based Panasonic RP82,XP30,or XP50 on EBAY or other places for $200-300.
